Mark Zelinski has enjoyed diverse career as a professional photographer that has taken him across 80 countries, with clients ranging from The National Film Board of Canada to Panasonic. He trained as an artist and a designer, graduating as the top student of OCAD in 1979, and is also a publisher, writer, painter, filmmaker, a Fellow of Royal Canadian Geographical Society and winner of the Canadian Governor General's Medal. Zelinski is best known for his "Books That Heal" initiative - donating 7,000 copies of his photography books to 100 worldwide charities. His nine internationally acclaimed photography books include forewords by HRH Prince Philip, The Honourable Lincoln Alexander, HRH Prince Andrew, AFN Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day and The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau.


On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure through Israel and Jordan, Mark will give workshops and share his vast expertise in cultural, travel, landscape and wildlife photography on an incredible experiential journey.

A non-refundable deposit of $400.00 per person is required at time of booking. Insurance must be purchased at time of booking.

Balance of Payment Balance due: 20January /2020, for late bookings /within 60 days the full payment is required immediately.

Cancelation:

If cancellation is necessary, please advise GMTours immediately in writing. Cancellation charges are as follows:

nonrefundable deposit at the time of booking up to 90 days........ $ 400.00 per person

89 Days to 59 days................................................ 30% of the total cost per person

Between 60and 45 days before departure ........................... 50% of the total cost

45 days or less .................................................. 100% of the total cost

If You Change your booking:

A $70.00 administration charge will be applied for changes you make to your booking outside the 60 days to 45 days from departure period. Any changes required less than 45 days will apply to the airline rules and regulations please note name changes are not allowed and such will be treated as cancellations.

GMTours Responsibility:

GMTours will advise you of any change or alters in the holiday which you have purchased from us. Occasionally, changes might occur close to departure time. In such cases, you will be notified as early as possible. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the local tour operator may have to make last minute changes in hotel or schedule. We reserve the right to substitute any of the hotels with hotels in similar or better category. First class twin-bedded rooms with private facilities are used. The sequence of the itinerary may changes due to circumstances such as for safety or any other reason beyond our control

Day 2 : Tel Aviv _Jaffa

You'll be met at the airport and assisted after immigration. Once you have your bag our driver will deliver you to your hotel. Check in to your hotel, then proceed for a Walking tour to the City of Jaffa which is now a vibrant tourist hub and an attractive site in itself. Visit lovely Neve Tzaedek neighborhood, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Jaffa also boasts stunning beaches and fantastic restaurants serving a variety of local food. Welcome Dinner at your hotel. Day 3 : Galilee

We'll be visiting the Holy Land sites of Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee today.

Galilee is the backdrop of many significant historical and religious events. The Sea of Galilee (or Lake Kinneret) is a vast freshwater lake (by far Israel's largest) is so much more than a historical landmark.

Here is Mount Gilboa where King Saul and his son, Jonathan, died in a battle. Here is Armageddon (Megiddo) where Solomon built giant stables. At the Sea of Galilee, see where Jesus first taught his followers, walked the shores and performed miracles. Also, consider being baptized in the Jordan River.

We'll be visiting Nazareth, described in the New Testament as the childhood home of Jesus. See popular Holy Land sites like the Basilica of the Annunciation and Mt. Tabor, the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus.

We'll pass the lakeshore city of Tiberias, one of the "Four Holy Cities of Judaism".

Day 4 : Jerusalem

Begin your full-day tour with the first stop is at the Mount of Olives for a scenic overview of the entire city of Jerusalem. This mountain ridge is east of the Old City of Jerusalem and named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes. According to the gospels, a number of important events in the life of Jesus took place here, including where he ascended into heaven. The Mount has been a site of Christian worship since ancient times and continues to be a place of pilgrimage for Eastern Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant believers. The tour then passes through the Garden of Gethsemane, at the foot of the Mount of Olives. This garden is known as the place where Jesus prayed, and also where his disciples slept, the night before his crucifixion. Walk along the Via Dolorosa, the street that Jesus traveled on the way to his crucifixion. Here, look for the 14 Stations of the Cross while retracing Jesus' steps to the Hill of Calvary, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Also, see the Stone of the Anointing, where it is believed that Jesus was placed before his burial. Finally, continue into the Old City through the Zion Gate to Jerusalem's Cardo, the main thoroughfare of Byzantine Jerusalem. In the Jewish Quarter, visit the Western Wall, or Wailing Wall, the holiest of Jewish sites. The wall is about 2,000 years old; its cracks are filled with the prayer papers from the thousands of people that visit here. Further along in the Christian Quarter, leave the Old City through the Jewish Marketplace (Meals: Breakfast+ Dinner)

Day 5 : Dead sea-Botanical Garden/Masada

Breakfast at our hotel, transfer by our AC coach bus to the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens, a gem in the heart of Jerusalem. It serves as an education, learning and research center, holds a diverse collection of plants from around the world at around 30 acres, the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens is the largest in Israel. There are over 6,000 species and varieties of plants from around the world Israel's largest collection of live plants displayed in 6 phyto-geographical sections Southern Africa, Europe, North America, Australia, South-East and Central Asia and the Mediterranean. Jerusalem Botanical Gardens (JBG) is like visiting different geographical areas of the world: while most botanical gardens are organized by botanical grouping, JBG is arranged according to the plants geographical origin. This division enables you to wander between the sections experiencing the changing landscape of the different areas. We'll spend enough time to tour and take photos around this magical place. Our day will finished by visiting to Masada the moving historic location and the archaeological remains, this massive plateau on the eastern edge of the Judean Desert is better known as the location of the Roman Siege against Jewish rebels in AD 74. Dinner & overnight at our Jerusalem hotel. (Meals: Breakfast+ Dinner)

Galilee     

Day 6 : Bethlehem

Today begins with a tour of Bethlehem. Here, we visit the Church of the Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus, and Shepherds Fields then the Field of Boaz and Ruth. Free time remaining of the day at leisure.

Return to hotel and over Nights at Bethlehem. (Meals: Breakfast+ Dinner)

Galilee     

Day 7 : Departure from Israel/Amman/Jerash/ Ajloun Castle.

Transfer to Tel Aviv airport for our flight to Amman. Upon arrival at Queen Alia Airport. you'll be met at the airport and assisted after immigration. Once you have your bag our driver will deliver you to your hotel, Depart to visit Jerash followed by Ajloun Castle. we'll drive north and proceed to visit Jerash, "the Cross Roads of Civilization", known also as the "Pompeii of the East" and is now the most beautifully preserved Greek-Roman city. We see also the Grand ruins, Temples of Artemis and Zeus, a vast Roman forum, Hadrian's Triumphal Arch and a mile long street of columns. Then we proceed to the Castle of Ajloun, built in 1184 by Saladin's nephew, who defeated the Crusaders in 1189.  Return to Amman, dinner & overnight. (Meals: Breakfast+ Dinner)

Amman, Jordan     

Day 8 : Amman /Um Qaia/Pella

Depart for Amman City tour, a brief visit to the Citadel & Roman Theatre, continue to Um Qais or Gadara, a part of the Decapolis cities. This is a time to explore fascinating ruins, a stunning black basalt theatre and enjoy spectacular views of the Jordan Valley, the sea of Galilee, and the Golan Heights. Proceed to visit Pella, another city of the Decapolis in the Jordan Valley. Return to Amman, overnight at our hotel in Amman. (Meals: Breakfast +Lunch +Dinne )

Day 9 : Bethany/Dead Sea

Our day will start by visiting The Baptism site (Bethany) located just east of the Jordan River where John baptized Jesus Christ. Drive to the Dead Sea the lowest spot on earth, free afternoon for swimming, dinner and overnight at Dead Sea Hotel

Day 10 : Free morning in Dead Sea/Sunset Jeep tour at Wadi

Free morning in Dead Sea, continue to Wadi Rum, check in at Camp. Start 3 hours sunset jeep tour inside desert.

Day 11 : Wadi Rum / Petra / Full day tour of Petra

Breakfast then depart from Wadi Rum to Petra, start our visit to Jordan's most exciting and adventurous location-- Petra, hidden away in the encircling craggy rock mountains south of the Dead Sea. A three hour drive over the Desert Highway brings you to this "Rose-Red City" half as old as time, carved from living rock over 2,000 years ago by the Nabateans. The only entrance to the Fortress City is through a long, narrow passage. The sudden view of Petra's most spectacular monument, "The Treasury" is a dramatic sight. Beyond the Treasury lies other unique monuments .Carved right into the vary coloured mountains are the high place of sacrifice and the Monastery and Roman styled palace tomb. Day 12 : Second visit of Petra

Today enjoy a second day visit to Petra. Free afternoon at leisure, dinner & overnight in Petra. (Meals: Breakfast+ Dinner)

Day 13 : Little Petra/Kerak/ Amman.

Today we'll see Little Petra and Beidah, only a fifteen minute drive from Petra. You will be able to walk through 8,000 year old excavated Stone Age villages known as Beidah and Basta. Wander among the ruins of settlements of the biblical Edomites, or explore the sprawling remains of the Roman legionary fortress at Udruh. Depart to visit Kerak Castle. Lunch in Kerak, continue to Kan Zaman restaurant. Farewell dinner at Kan Zaman.  before heading to Queen Alia Int’l airport. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch + Dinner).
